012 Sofa Bed for Recycling

Well, finding a connection from the “Grainy Gate” was always going to be difficult.  There were two options, more wood-grain or a gate.  Perhaps I could’ve stretched a point with some hoarding (of which I’ve got lots of photos…as you might expect) and maybe I could’ve not bothered trying at all and simply uploaded any black and white photo.  Having said that, if I find myself backed into a corner in the future, ie struggling to make a connection, I might have to play this sort of “joker”!

So, there’s a gate in the above photo, but thankfully there are a few other items that enable connections in a few different directions.

Again the scene was found in lovely Bearwood, and it remained like this for some days.  I might’ve expected the mattress and/or the sofa to have ended up in the road or up against a fence after a couple of days (or hours), but no, it was left alone in the hope that someone might find a use for it.  Actually, I think it was left out on “bin day” more in the hope that it would be collected by the council, even though they clearly don’t collect such stuff.

As you can see from the photo below, there’s quite a bit of this “I’m sure someone else will clear it up” attitude.  Perhaps however I’m wrong and the people who left the three drinks cups on the ground before driving away thought that the local wildlife would found a use for them.

By the way, I hope no one with a push chair or a white-stick user had to negotiate the sofa-bed.  Perhaps a temporary warning sign similar to the one for the roundabout could’ve been employed….or is the sign actually notification of a “community recycling point”, given that it displays the three circulating arrows that are often associated with recycling signs?
