Modified No Entry Sign

So it’s not quite Banksy, but as far as modifying the public realm goes, it’s quite inventive.  Yes, the link from the previous posting is road signs….indeed, recycling them for another use or meaning.  I think this one is just humour based, or is it a plea from the locals to remove the “no entry” restriction from this part of Florence?

The one below, also from Florence, might also have a meaning beyond the simple but fairly inventive modification.  A play on the words “dead end” could be someone’s feelings towards the religion that this image represents, eg they might feel that “ever lasting life” doesn’t exist and life ends with death. The faithful would contest this.

There are no prizes for guessing where the modified sign shown below came from.  Also, there are probably no meanings beyond the simple graphic modification!  In Britain of course there are examples of unofficial public art and modified scenery that are far more inventive…such as those by Banksy.
